National Refrigerated Trucking is seeking motivated individuals for our Independent Agent Program. As an independent agent, you'll have the opportunity to either work from home or in one of our offices throughout the country. In addition, we provide training, weekly pay, and benefits.

Work From Home: As an independent freight agent, you'll have access to our order forms online. From here you enter your orders for processing. This system helps us process all paperwork for billing and payments. You can also track shipments, fax rate confirmations directly from within the logistics program, and print load sheets. This gives you and your customers the most up-to-date information possible, and our state-of-the-art systems give you a strategic edge over your competition.

Training: We offer the tools to help NRT Independent Agents succeed. Some are necessary, others just useful. We are always interested in fresh ideas. You are encouraged to submit ideas to help you and NRT succeed together. In order to ensure that your business is successful and gets off to a good start, NRT offers training to all new Agents. An NRT representative will spend the time needed to work with you and provide basic orientation to our system. This includes introduction to our state-of-the-art computer system, basic procedures, and to answer any questions you may have.

Compensation: Payments are processed weekly. Payments are calculated on the shipments delivered by the carrier the prior week. A week runs from Monday thru Sunday. Unlike most companies, we do not make you wait for your money until the customer pays us. You will have access to an Internet based state-of-the-art transportation management program and will be able to generate, load and print rate confirmations and worksheets.

Marketing Materials: Once on board, we provide you with Sales and Marketing materials to help you switch existing customers to ABG, and to help you secure new business. Sales items include: our website, folders, letterhead, envelopes, company brochures, business cards and the home office support backing you all the way.

Modern Systems: Our computer system gives you the information that you need to give your customer the answers they are looking for. You sound more confident, your customer gains more trust in you, resulting in more business. In addition, our online logistics program can be setup to report on any information that you want to see at any time. You can view or print a daily report of all the orders that have processed for your office for any given time.

In addition, we offer Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). EDI is is a major selling point with somme of our larger customers and can definitely be the service that gets you that big account that you may not have thought you could handle.

Lastly, our website can be an integral part of your sales, as credit applications and other downloadable documents and forms are already in place for your customer to accessess.

Job Description: As an independent agent, your title will be "Transportation Broker". You will provide freight transportation solutions to small, medium, and large businesses. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective clients
Cultivating new business
Rating loads for current and prospective clients
Arranging for freight transportation using the services of properly authorized carriers
Preparing bills of lading and other necessary paperwork on all freight moved
Reviewing credit limits and terms extended to clients
Assisting in the investigation and reporting of claims
Resolveing client conflicts
Providing follow-up customer satisfaction with clients as needed

Qualificaitons: To be an independent agent, we require a experience in the trucking, transportation, and or the warehousing industries:

5-10 years experience in the transportation industry OR at least 3 years of direct freight broker experience
Strong understanding of sales/marketing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Solid problem-solver with proven ability to resolve conflicts
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial personality
Excellent networking skills
Strong attention to detail, customer satisfaction, and follow-up
